“Moon children” photography project
Moon Children, a photography series conceived during my introductory photography course, was an early investigation into the parallels between the nurturing aspects of femininity and the moon’s cultural significance.
In many Asian traditions, the lunar calendar and the phases of the moon have long been linked with the rhythms of the menstrual cycle, evoking ideas of renewal, mystery, and inherent power. These images not only celebrate the moon as a source of guidance but also venerate the female body as an embodiment of nature’s perpetual cycles - a living archive of ancestral memory and potential.
