“Microscopic-Crimson” - Lightbox installation

The installation aims to bring a stigmatized bodily fluid - menstrual blood - into the cosmos and astronomy. It places the internal into the external, reflecting my desire to challenge the stigma and silence surrounding menstruation and menstrual blood.

The source photos for this installation were taken while I was making the fake menstrual blood using corn syrup, food coloring, and cocoa powder.

Printed on transparency acetate and kozo paper, in various dimensions.
